Update 25th December 2021 - Baby Possum Alert

For a few days now, Sasha's latest baby (her 14^th) has been venturing out of her pouch when in the nestbox. So now is the time for a Baby Possum Alert.

Sasha can normally be seen in box 3 or 5. Unfortunately, the camera in box 3 isn't very good at the moment.

Update 25th November 2021 - In Memory of Marcel

First some very sad news; Marcel was hit by a car on the road. He was found in the morning, badly injured, and had to be euthanized by the vet. He has been buried in the garden next to Rahmet.

Update 2nd October 2021 - Introducing Jedi

Shane has brought (at some risk - see later) her first baby to show the humans. The baby is a tough and active one and has been named Jedi. I think Jedi is female, but I'm not sure.

Update 16th August 2021 - Introducing Blake and Blossom

Sasha's latest baby is back-riding and has been named Blake. Wink's baby has also just started back-riding and has been named Blossom. Here are photos of the two youngsters on their first visits to the house.

Update 22nd July 2021 - Record Number of Box Possums

On a couple of occasions recently, four possum boxes have been occupied simultaneously. Not only that, but all of the possums are females with pouch babies, so there were actually a total of eight possums in the boxes. This would have to be a record.

Baby Possum Alert

Despite its small size and the relatively cold temperatures, Sasha's latest baby (her 13^th) is now venturing out of her pouch when in the nestbox. So now is the time for a Baby Possum Alert.

Sasha can normally be seen in box 1 or 7, but occasionally uses box 2.

By the way, if anyone is having difficulty with the streaming video not displaying when trying to view the boxes, please let me know, either by email or by posting a comment on this blog. There is an issue with how some recent browsers work in some situations that causes them to block streaming. I am looking at a permanent solution to this, but there are things I can do temporarily to get it working if people are having problems now. 

Update 2nd July 2021 - Expecting a Possum Baby Boom

It has been longer than usual since my previous update, but at least no dramatic events have happened in the interim. All of the possums are still visiting and healthy.

Update 3rd May 2021 - A sugar glider and a new possum

Some unexpected news: A sugar glider was seen in the back yard.

With the exception of Marcel, who hasn't visited for a while (see later), all of the brushtails are visiting regularly and in good health.
