Some bad news

I will be putting up a more positive blog entry fairly soon, but there has been some very tragic news that I have to get out of the way. Wink was found dead in the garage.

Update 19th November 2024

Sprout is mostly back-riding and keeps close to her mother Blossom, but occasionally will run off a short distance with food torn from Blossom's mouth.

Update 19th October 2024 - Introducing Sprout

Blossom's new baby (her 3rd) has been named Sprout. I am not sure, but I think Sprout is female.

Baby Possum Alert

For the first time this year, there is a Baby Possum Alert.

Wink, the dominant female, has a new baby (her 6th) who has just started emerging from the pouch.

Wink with baby in Box 7 - 26th July 2024

Wink has been using boxes 3 or 7, but your best chance of getting a good look at the baby is when she's in Box 7 because the camera in Box 3 is in poor condition after being attacked by a kookaburra last year (I will have to post the footage of this some time).

If you see a possum without a baby in either of these boxes, don't worry; it's probably Vincent who also uses these boxes.

Also, I promise I'll put up a full Possum Update entry some time soon. :)

Update 30th April 2024

I apologise for not posting an update for a while. Possum TV still lives; it's just that a combination of other work and no unusual possum news have led me to not update the blog for a while.

But before I mention the possum news, I have a request to any possum carers or other people who might have treated possums for exudative dermatitis: Does anyone know of a vet who has taken over the role of Dr Jim Pollock in supplying Ceclor for treating possums with exudative dermatitis? If so, could you please contact me via email at possumtv@gmail.com

I have no possums requiring treatment at this moment, but it would be good to be prepared for when this happens.

The main possum news is that Joule has left the area. He left in March, which is seven months since he was first seen out of the pouch. This is a normal time for youngsters to seek their fortune.
