Blossom's new baby has been named Drak.

Blossom has only brought him close to the house once so far.
Drak is back-riding like an expert - facing the right way around and not hanging on backwards or sideways like some do at first.
In other news, Ahab, the three-legged ringtail, is still around, and I managed to get a photo of him.
Also, yesterday a second ringtail has started using the possum boxes. One ringtail was in box 2 and the other in box 8.

In other news, Ahab, the three-legged ringtail, is still around, and I managed to get a photo of him.
It's not a trick of the light - the lower half of his front right leg is missing. He walks with a noticeable limp, but still manages to get around in the trees perfectly well.

Also, yesterday a second ringtail has started using the possum boxes. One ringtail was in box 2 and the other in box 8.
It's not clear whether this ringtail is taking advantage of Rudy's nest-building, whether they were the one who built the nest in Box 8, or whether the two ringtails have been taking turns in the boxes right from the start.
Last night, the two ringtails were seen together in box 8, so they are presumably related.
Just noticed, is that a ringtail sleeping with a brushtail in Box 8?

DeleteI didn't expect to see three ringtails in boxes, and if that's a mother and child in box 8 (not guaranteed - sometimes fathers look after their young), that means that Rudy, who is male, is sleeping elsewhere.
Three of the ringtails have piled into box 8 today it looks like - I assume that's the mother and two babies, which leaves the question of if Rudy was one of the children, or another fourth ringtail.

DeleteIt looks like it's up to 6 possums tonight, the three ringtails and Blossom/Drak/Gandalf.
